Jeff Berkowitz: So…if I call them scholarships, then you are okay [with them]?

Jeff Berkowitz: The so-called Employee Free Choice Act, some people call it Card Check—you know, the union person stands outside the Hall and says please sign this card—maybe he doesn’t say please, and if you sign it and he gets a certain number of authorizations, then that proposed union gets certified. Some people would say you’re giving up—the employees are giving up the secret ballot—do you favor that?
Sen. Randy Hultgren: I am opposed to that.
Jeff Berkowitz: Do you know what Cong. Bill Foster (D, 14th CD) thinks about that?
Sen. Randy Hultgren: Well, I have heard stories. I don’t know for sure but I know he is very tied in with unions and unions play a great role but when they become coercive, which they do…I think that’s where it goes overboard…in this type of thing it goes too far …it’s more than persuasion…
