Ald. Sandi Jackson: Now airing at a Computer or TV set near you
Jeff Berkowitz: Was the Supreme Court wrong in its decision overturning the DC handgun ban [as unconstitutional]? .
Ald. Sandi Jackson (7th Ward, Chicago): Absolutely. Absolutely wrong on that.
Jeff Berkowitz: In Chicago, will the ban on handguns be overturned?
Ald. Sandi Jackson: I am with the Mayor in saying that we need to do everything we can to keep handguns out of Chicago.
Jeff Berkowitz: What do you do? Is he going to raise taxes on people who own guns in Chicago?
Ald. Sandi Jackson: That’s not the way. That is not the way. We’ve got to do more to get people to voluntarily give up these guns.
Jeff Berkowitz: But, they’re not. The bad guys keep getting guns.
Ald. Sandi Jackson: Bad guys are absolutely—
Jeff Berkowitz: Shootings outside the Taste of Chicago. You saw that.
Ald. Sandi Jackson: And we’ve got to get these guns out of the City. They’ve got to come out.
Jeff Berkowitz: Gun control didn’t do anything for that. Is it time for a new approach? Time for a change.
Ald. Sandi Jackson: Absolutely. I like that. It’s time for a change, Jeff
