Better than Fox Chicago Sunday: Berkowitz w/State Rep. Mark Beaubien (R-Wauconda), Cable and Streaming

Jeff Berkowitz: ...Query, if Barack Obama [hadn't had] that ability to raise five or six million dollars in the [2004 U. S. Senate Democratic Primary], would he have had any chance at all of being a Presidential candidate today? That is, if he couldn't have raised that money in the U.S. Senate primary, he wouldn't have won; he wouldn't have been the Democratic candidate for the U. S. Senate, he wouldn't have been a U. S. Senator, and we would be talking today about Hillary Clinton as being the nominee for [President] for the Democratic Party.

State Rep. Beaubien (R-Wauconda): ...he is a phenomenal fund raiser--

Jeff Berkowitz: And why is that? What does it take? You have to be charming?

State Rep. Mark Beaubien: He is a personality.

Jeff Berkowitz: He is a charmer.

State Rep. Beaubien: As...you said before, I do know him and served with him for years. An outstanding individual. Very articulate, great presence. And, people like him and they want to give him money.

Jeff Berkowitz: ...you know Barack

State Rep. Beaubien: Right.

Jeff Berkowitz: An honest guy?

State Rep. Beaubien: Yes.

Jeff Berkowitz: Can you explain away Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger, Tony Rezko, the bitter comment, all of that negative stuff that came up two months, three months prior to his nomination [effectively] for President [by the Democratic Party]?

State Rep. Beaubien: I think the Pfleger-Wright thing is a little bit unfair...
