Sen. Silverstein on TV and Streaming: Sister Muhammad and Gays and Jews

Revised Sunday at 12:10 am

Please come back early Sunday morning for more on the great Republican Gubernatorial debate and some predictions for Tuesday’s outcome from a well known pol and pol handler.

In the meantime, watch [here] to see State Senator Ira Silverstein [D-Chicago], one of those Democratic state legislators who was not afraid to take the lead and speak out on the issue of Sister Muhammad and anti-Semitic and anti-gay statements made by Minister Farrakhan. This candor on the part of Sen. Silverstein was in sharp contrast to other legislators who chose, at the time, to hide in the closet, so to speak- and some of those legislators have yet to come out.

In addition to the Sister Muhammad/Minister Farrakhan/Nation of Islam issues relating to the Commission on Discrimination and hate crimes, Senator Silverstein debates and discusses a range of state legislative issues, including education funding, taxes, school choice, school vouchers, gambling, casinos, legalization of drugs and of course, Illinois’ favorite Democratic son, or at least one of its favorites, Gov. Rod Blagojevich with show host and executive legal recruiter Jeff Berkowitz. The show also airs as the suburban edition of Public Affairs next week. [See here] for that airing schedule.
