Better than Carol Marin w/ Gov. Quinn: Berkowitz w/Illinois Policy Institute's Tillman, Cable and soon streaming

Jeff Berkowitz: John McCain is an honorable man—

John Tillman, Chairman and CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute: Absolutely.

Jeff Berkowitz: …[B]ut, John McCain didn’t really stand for what the Illinois Policy Institute stands for, right?

John Tillman,: That would be an understatement. John McCain believes in regulating speech. The McCain-Feingold Act is a travesty. It restricts the ability of individuals as well as organizations to participate in the political process. He does not understand how a market works. He was a terrible spokesman for what happened during the financial crisis. He tried to blame greedy Wall Streeters, of which there are many, but the fundamental causes of the financial crisis, of course, were bad government regulation, in the first place, of which Barack Obama was part, and he did not do a very good job of articulating that message and it cost him.
