Listen to Eight Forty-Eight this morning [Tuesday]. The popular, informative and entertaining radio magazine format program [consisting of news, politics, culture, and public policy segments], hosted by one of the best program hosts and the most versatile radio personality in the City, Steve Edwards, airs every weekday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on WBEZ, 91.5 FM radio. This morning’s first segment, running about 15 minutes, focuses on the Gubernatorial, Democratic Nominee for President of Cook County Board and Chicago Mayoral political dynamics. Jeff Berkowitz joins in that segment University of Illinois at Chicago Professor Maria de los Angeles Torres and ABC-7 News Reporter Charles Thomas [who is about to break another big news story]. Berkowitz, Torres and Thomas provide intelligent, balanced observations, insights and political analysis under the direction of Steve Edwards.

Behind the scenes on Eight Forty-Eight, doing his usual excellent job, is director Jason Marck. Also behind the scenes, and relatively new to Eight Forty-Eight is producer Kristin Moo-- who seems to be replacing, at least in part, some of what Associate Editor Adriene Hill used to do. Hill, who has moved up to Senior Editor, News Desk at WBEZ, is is a very hard act to follow, but Moo seems to have mastered the job. Moo asked me all the right questions so she could help set up the tone and substance of the show. Of course, Steve Edwards puts it all together, with great skill and style.

Missed the show? Don't fret, you can listen to it at the WBEZ Eight Forty-Eight audio library.
