Sneed and Capitolfax: Bringing you old news.
More than two weeks ago, on March 17, I told my blog readers [read here] that, contingent on Cong. Hyde deciding not to run for re-election in the 6th Cong. Dist. [and BTW I flat out predicted that Cong. Hyde would not run again], State Sen. Roskam had lined up eight significant endorsements, including that of his 1998 13th CD Republican primary rival, Cong. Judy Biggert.
Then this morning, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed catches up with me, telling those who like to chew on "two week old bread" [read here] the old news, “Judy Biggert (R-Ill.) is supporting her former adversary, state Sen. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton), in his race for the 6th Congressional District.”
Then Rich Miller, in one of today's capitolfax blog entries [read here] links to Sneed’s rather tardy Sneedling, telling us: “Roskam on a roll-Peter Roskam moves closer to being the consensus GOP candidate to replace Henry Hyde. U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert (R-Ill.) is supporting her former adversary, state Sen. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton), in his race for the 6th Congressional District.”
What will Michael Sneed and Rich Miller tell you tomorrow, the seven other contingent endorsements of Roskam that I reported two weeks ago?
Shouldn't columnists like Sneed and bloggers like Rich Miller know what has already been reported, either in print or in a blog, and if they want to use it-- cite to the original source. If they don't do that, somebody might think they had either plagiarized or were journalistically negligent and we know neither could be the case with those two, right?
I mean this isn't the first time this practice has been raised about Sneed. For Rich, it seems to be, so I will give him a pass this time. For Sneed, I don't know what to think. Maybe it is yet another example of aging reflexes, demonstrating once again that nobody is ageless.
